It was reported after Saturday’s game that Jordan Wicks would not start Sunday because of “left forearm tightness.” This is not a good sign at all, and the Cubs aren’t taking any chances. They’ve placed him on the 15-day injured list.
Hayden Wesneski will make today’s start in Wicks’ place.
The Cubs also optioned Luke Little back to Triple-A Iowa. Little’s had some rough outings lately, including a bad one Saturday in which he made some mental errors.
To replace Wicks and Little on the active roster, the Cubs recalled righthander Daniel Palencia and lefthander Richard Lovelady from Iowa.
